An Autumn Trip to Mississippi

I have been out of town for several days, visiting my son's family in Mississippi.
The weather was unusually pleasant.  I enjoyed seeing the four grandchildren as well as my son and daughter-in-law.  This is a photo after church. (Please excuse my photos, as I forgot my good camera, and most were taken with my iphone!)

I also enjoyed helping with the children's home schooling.

And observing their serious workout sessions.
(No, thanks, Grandmother does not want to participate!)

The youngest are easily entertained at the store.
(No way they are taking these huge critters home!)

Most of all I loved teaching the girls how to make rag quilts.

We also got to eat out where they had dartboard and shuffleboard fun.

Of course the grand-dog was helpful as a courier for "Lunch Time" messages.

My last day there we took a four mile hike through a state park.
The fallen leaves smelled heavenly.  We were reminded of God's beauty.

We discovered a very old, decaying house along the trail.
We could only imagine the early settlers who lived there.

Another opportunity for a family photo.

How are you celebrating the changing seasons?
I hope you are blessed with good weather and time with your family.
