The Last Beautiful Day Before Winter

Yesterday was the last beautiful, warm day before the bluster of winter started blowing in today.  So I took full advantage of the day, first with a trip to the Gardens and later with a long bike ride with my husband in our local bike park.  Here are some photos of our neighborhood and of the Missouri Botanical Gardens in St. Louis.

This is sunrise from our back deck.

These are the clouds that appeared in the bluest sky.

The last colors of autumn.

Yellow Ginko leaves.

The last purple pansies.

Orange mums and purple Kale.

Autumn smells are Nature's potpourri.

Today a neighbor's flag waves bravely in 50 mile per hour gusts of wind,
ushering in the edges of bitter cold. We will go from a high yesterday in
the mid '70's to a high in the mid '40's tomorrow with freezing tonight.

A couple of weeks ago I received some bad news, just before a storm arrived.
As the storm subsided this double rainbow appeared behind our house.
I took it as a sign that God is still on His throne.
We who seek Him have a future and a hope.
We are safe under His wings.
All storms pass.
