Mixed Media Found Object Assemblages

I thought I would show you some of the artwork I have made from Vintage Linens and Found Objects. I used to make them a lot, but after a while one runs out of things to do with them! I would love to sell them, but the difficulty and cost of shipping a glass shadow box is
a bit much.  So I stopped making them.  (Sad!)  But I still have them to enjoy.  (Glad!)

I couldn't resist putting these little crochets pants on
a  clothesline  with teensy little clothespins.

This yellow and purple assemblage shows off the beauty
of a crocheted doily and a crocheted flower in the center.

This is a crocheted potholder over a crocheted hanky.

These above and below are little crocheted dresses
(potholders) over vintage print fabric with rick-rack.

This is a darling doll apron with a tiny crocheted doily and
a Mary Engelbreit birdhouse pin, over an embroidered dish towel

This assemblage I helped a friend make from her deceased
Mother's handkerchief, linen towel, and various old college pins and awards.

I assembled this piece from an antique black beaded handbag, an antique silver
moth pin, various pretty vintage ephemera, all on top of a piece of rusted fabric.
(Pardon the glass glare.)

This is an antique fur handbag with an antique pin, button, key and various
other antique pieces, a charming photo of a lady, all over vintage fabrics.

This last piece contains a the most exquisite example of a finely knitted
baby sweater, antique baby flatware, an a cute antique photo.

Have you ever made art out of old linens or found objects?
It is a wonderful to preserve and display the beauty of things we can no longer find.
