Quilt National Show

I am supposed to be getting ready to go out of town this week, but have been doing all kinds of other things instead.  I will hate myself at the last minute when I'm not ready to go for procrastinating by doing things like washing the walls and deep cleaning neglected spots when I least have time to do it.  I have also been running around and having fun, being a well-rounded girl.  Today was spent with friends Karen, Diane and Joy, going to the traveling Quilt National Show at the St. Louis University Art Museum.  It was worth the time spent.  Here are some photos of a few of my favorites, with close-ups of some of the exquisite details...

I would love to have purchased at least one of them to take home, as most are for sale, however I didn't quite have the pocket change.  But if you are interested, you can check into it on their website at (Click Here).  And if you can get to one of the exhibits, please do--the photos don't begin to do these works of arts justice.

  3. Quilt National is a biannual show. It seems that it has gotten progressively more "contemporary" each time. Kind of disappointing to me, but still worth seeing all the wonderful new techniques and endless unique ideas. But I always love the old, simple patterns, too.

  4. Thanks for posting these pictures. I stumbled on your blog, and saw my quilt "My Grandmother's Dresses' in your photos. It's a big honor to be chosen, and thank so much for posting your pictures. It's a wonderful show. Best, Lorie McCown
