Busy!

I love fall.  I have said that already, I know, but I really do.  However, when fall ends and winter moves in there is a LOT of work to do!  I've been doing a lot of preparation today for winter's arrival sometime tonight, in fact. It is supposed to get down to 24 degrees tonight, then a high of 36 tomorrow, and 14 degrees tomorrow night!  But today it was delightfully warm outside, making it perfect for last minute outdoor preparation for winter.

So today, after washing and replacing the bedding, dusting and mopping the wood floors and vacuuming the carpets, I started the outside fall clean up.  I brought in a lot of the summer furniture from the screened back deck, rearranged the remaining furniture, and vacuumed the porch thoroughly.  Then I brought up the hose and sprayed down the inside of the porch, the outside deck and stairs and the back of the house and patio and sidewalks down below.  Then I clipped the front rose hedges and cleaned that all away into the trash.  Then I brought out several houseplants that were on the deck and repotted them into larger pots for coming indoors over the winter.  Then I cleaned off the front porch and hosed it down.  Somewhere in there I also rescued a neighbor's dog by figuring out who it belonged to and returning it to its home.  So right now I am writing all this to let you know that it has been crazy busy around here since I blogged last time.  I love being busy, but not blogging for a week is NOT acceptable to me! (Argh.)

By the way, last week was partly busy due to being one of my best week's EVER on Ebay--really!  Just when I thought the bottom had permanently fallen out of the economy, shoppers appeared out of nowhere.  It did my heart good to know that my little cottage industry is still worthwhile, since I do enjoy it so much.  Do you remember how I told you that I cleaned out a bunch of junk drawers in my studio recently, and put some of the things in there up for sale in my Ebay store?  Well so far I estimate that I have sold those things for over $230.00--and I'm not done yet!  I also cleaned out our Christmas decorations and de-cluttered a lot by putting them on Ebay--total brought in so far is over $200.00.  That does not include my other Christmas sales on items that were not part of my personal de-cluttering.  So it PAYS to clean out and de-clutter and recycle on Ebay!  :-)
And the best part about it is that once you get rid of clutter you will never have to clean it or reorganize it again!  :-)  Are you de-cluttering and preparing for winter, too?

  2. I just reorganized some bookshelves and listed a pile of books in the process. Several have sold already. I love selling the clutter from around the house. It feels like free money :)
