Missouri Winter's Day Outing

Ruthie (in the green jacket) and I enjoyed an outing bouncing wildly across ditches, over hills and through the mud on the Kubota, screaming and laughing hysterically.  It isn't often that I take the time to savor the beauty of empty fields, a nearly frozen river, or a tree nibbled by a beaver. A camera forces you to really focus on everything around you.  Spending time in God's creation with no other
motivation than taking it all in--really seeing it, smelling it, feeling it--rejuvenates the soul.

Let's remember, even on winter days, to get out in nature as often as we can. When is the last time you enjoyed the great outdoors?

  1. Sounds like a fabulous day! I have been thinking about doing something similar with my boys. Taking each one out of school one day and going on a photo safari.

    1. Oh, I so used to love taking my boys out of school for a special outing with just me. How fun! A photo safari is a good description for it. :-)
