Trip to Coronado Island

Sorry, I've been missing, haven't I? We were on a nice little trip to Coronado Island, just off of San Diego. Sweetface had a business meeting at Hotel Coronado. We stayed there in a wonderful room right on a beach with gold particles in the sand. The bottom photo was the view from our king sized bed. Not bad, eh? We were not sad to miss the last big snowstorm at home.

I am convinced that people who live there every day have No Clue how fortunate they are. Can you imagine being able to walk on the beach, barefoot, while people in the rest of the country are shoveling snow and driving to and from work in icy traffic jams? All the while, folks in lower California are enjoying FLOWERS??? Something is wrong with that picture! (But far be it from me to be Jealous. Ahem!)

But the fortunate ones were us, of course, who could take a business trip to such a divine location just when our home town was being hit with the last of winter's wrath. We felt special, indeed. I even got to hit a couple of garage sales and scavenge at Kobey's Flea Market in San Diego. I brought home some very special jewelry pieces which will soon appear in my Ebay store--if I can actually part with them all.

More lovely photos  to come in  "Coronado Island:Part II"!

  1. So gorgeous...your pics are making me miss the summer. Our snow is almost all gone...I'm thinking the rest of it might melt today/tomorrow since it's been in the 40's and 50's. I do love winter, but think I'm ready for some warmer weather. Glad you had a wonderful trip!

  2. Your pictures are gorgeous- as usual :) It's a goal of ours to move south as soon as hubby is able to retire. I've had it with these winters. I can never seem to get warm. I know the south has a had a little bit of weather this winter, too, but nothing like what we get here in the Midwest.

    1. Ah, same here. If we only had a few millions to spare we would so live on one of those beaches.
