Third Thursday Luncheon Here

I was a bit busy last week getting ready to host the Third Thursday Ladies Luncheon here last week, so I didn't get a blog posted.  So here are a few pics...

This is the autumn themed table setting, with small pumpkin candles at each place.
Here is the fireplace, with a quilt I appliqued years ago and still love.
I actually appliqued some of these pumpkin blocks sitting on a ship cruising the Rhine Valley in Germany in the early 1990's.  It brings back wonderful memories of the October Fests.
All eight of us made it this month--
what a joy it is to set aside a time to be with good friends and neighbors!
I made a fresh Caesar Salad with Homemade Croutons, and a Penne Pasta dish full of fresh chopped vegetables and shrimp followed.  I forgot to take close-ups (cooking instead!)  But I did remember to take a pic of the Chocolate Pie Dessert, (which I can never resist!)
The recipie is simple.  For the bottom crust mix together:
1 cup flour
1 stick room temperature butter (real!)
Press the crust evenly over the bottom of a 9x12 dish, then sprinkle and press into it
1/2 cup chopped pecans.
Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes; cool.
Over the cooled crust spread a mixture of:
8 oz. cream cheese
1 cup powdered sugar
1 cup Cool Whip
Refrigerate for 15 minutes.
Over that layer pour evenly:
2 small packages of cooked "Cook & Serve" Chocolate Pudding Mix
which has been cooked with 3 cups of milk till just bubbling.
Refrigerate until Set.
Over that spread:
2 cups of Cool Whip
Sprinkle top with Chocolate Sprinkles
