Is it Legal to Eat Porcupines?

Just wondering, because that's what we are having for dinner tonight.
In fact, it's one of our Favorite recipes for sure; just delicious!
(And easy on the grocery budget!)
Assemble your ingredients:

For the Meatballs:
1 lb. hamburger
1/2 cup uncooked rice
1 small onion, diced
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. celery salt
1/2 tsp. minced garlic 

For the Sauce:
2 cups tomato juice or tomato sauce
4 whole cloves
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
2 Tbsp. sugar
1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce

Combine the first 6 ingredients into small meatballs.
Try not to overwork the meat; that makes it tough.
Please the meatballs into a pan, evenly spaced.

Combine the last 5 ingredients to make a sauce.
Pour it over the meatballs in the pan.

Cover the pan tightly and simmer slowly for about 45 minutes, or until done.
You will not believe how wonderful this smells while it is cooking!

This easily makes 2 or 3 main courses for the two of us. 
 I freeze the extra for a quick dinner on another day.

I also dice up a large onion while I'm at it and freeze the extra in a Baggie.
Why pay for frozen chopped onions when you can easily make your own?

Because Sweetface often gets home late for dinner I like to make the recipe early
 in the day and put it in the pan and into the refrigerator until it is time to cook. I often set the table in the morning, too, as I empty out the dishwasher.  Then all I need to do is fix a couple of vegetables or a salad just before dinner, and it's quick and easy.
