But yesterday felt like Christmas--there were so many delightful gifts brought for everyone! It felt like we hadn't seen each other in months; we were all hugging and talking at once. It's so good to have sweet neighbors.
Diane brought a box full of her yummy home-grown cucumbers to share.
Joy brought two baskets full of potted plants to share.
Rossanne brought us each a little coin purse from her recent trip home to Taiwan.
This is the one I chose:
This is the "Vicks" plant I brought home. Have you ever heard of that?
It has a furry leaf. I love it on my kitchen window.
These are my cucumbers! :-)
And this is the lunch that Karen served--Yum!
Plus what she called a German Pancake with fresh peaches.
Needless to say, I got little else done yesterday except enjoying myself. The weather is AMAZING this week--totally not your typical unbearable heat and humidity here in St. Louis. I took an afternoon nap on the porch swing in the mid-70's coolness, then gardened until dark. I am so thankful for such a perfect day. May we all have many such pleasant days!
Yes! Good fellowship with friends and family is what it's all about. I look forward to seeing what delicious recipe you come up with for those cucumbers :)

DeleteI will also ask Karen for her great cucumber dip recipe! Linda
Nothing can compare with getting together with friends and just enjoying yourself.
ReplyDeleteWe definitely don't do that enough. That is why I love our group--we have a definite appointment to enjoy ourselves once a month!
DeleteLooks like a perfect day with wonderful friends. Glad to see your dear friend Joy is back in the flow again! :))
ReplyDeleteYou can't keep a wild woman down! :-) Linda
DeleteI love spending time with family and friends..nothing beats it!
ReplyDeleteI just have to say that I recently stumbled upon your blog and have enjoyed going back and reading your older posts! I, too, live in the St. Louis area, so it's neat to read your stories and know exactly where you are talking about!!
Ahhhhhh.....miss you all. Sooo glad Joy is back in the fold and feeling so well. Thank you all for including me in the gifts and to the "special" someone who walked them to my porch. I'm still on child care duty for our 4 month grand daughter and each day she is getting more fun!!!
