It has been unusually wonderful weather for January in Missouri. Highs into the 50's to even the low 60's and no rain or sleet or snow--what can complain about that? And the photo on top was our sunset Saturday night. Wow.
Miss Rosie the cat has been her funny self lately. As always, she likes to hide under the bedcovers and doesn't really want to come out of her nest so I can make the bed in the mornings. She keeps me company while I am listing on Ebay or working around the house. (Callie sleeps most of the time, being an older matron.)
But Rosie's funniest new antic cracks me up. My friend Ruthie gave me the most delicious-smelling homemade body scrub for Christmas. It is made entirely out of kitchen ingredients including vanilla and coconut oil, and it makes your skin feel wonderful. I finally used it for the first time a couple of weeks ago. After I got out of the tub and was drying off I noticed Rosie doing something odd. She was licking the sides of the tub! First she was just bent over the edge licking down as far as she could, but then she actually got into the tub and licked the bottom. I have never, ever, seen her actually inside the tub before. She loved the smell so much that she decided to lick it off! I guess I don't have to clean the tub anymore. :-)
P.S. Notice that we keep a bowl of food and water by the bathtub? The cats love having it there as well as in the kitchen. (Maybe they are a teensy bit spoiled?)
Speaking of funny cats, I finally ordered the little ceramic cat above from "Barruntando" on ETSY. It is only about three inches tall, and it is simply adorable. This artist makes the cutest tiny ceramic animals--check it out if you are an animal lover.
Well, Callie is up and demanding her kitty dinner--Bye for now!
Adorable! We are always finding our cats in the bath tub or on top of the bathroom sink. They've learned how to turn on the faucets, and that's where they prefer to drink :)
ReplyDeleteOh that's so funny, Kimberly! Luckily we don't have the kind of faucets that cats can easily operate. I would hate to see the water bill. Ha!
DeleteI went to check out the etsy seller and found I'd already favorited them! I guess we have similar taste.
ReplyDeleteI guess it's true what they say about great minds...
DeleteToo cute!! My little dogs try to lick the lotion right off my legs, as I'm putting it on. I figure it's made with some tasty fat of some sort.
ReplyDeleteEeeeuwwww!
DeleteLove that first cat photo! I think I'd frame that one and hang it on the wall! I'm looking for a few good Etsy sellers to feature on my shopping blog so will check out the one you mentioned. Always interested in great recommendations...thank you!
ReplyDeleteI may just have to do that. I have a frame that work be perfect for it. :-)
DeleteIt looks like Miss Rosie really likes to make herself comfy. My dog likes snuggling under the bed quilts too. I think it's perfectly okay if they're spoiled, don't you?
ReplyDeleteYes. In fact, I think it is a requirement! :-)
